Columbia, Md., June 26, 2019 – Big things are happening at Secom, LLC.

The security company is enjoying significant growth this summer, with openings scheduled for a new, larger office in Columbia, Md., and a subsequent expansion in the Hampton Roads region of VA.

Located at 10240 Old Columbia Road, Secom’s new office is three times larger than the company’s former headquarters.  A grand opening is scheduled for July 15.

The new office is designed to offer DoD customers hands-on experience with Secom’s Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) capabilities. Features include a state-of-the-art demonstration room outfitted with multiple access control, alarm, intercom, CCTV systems, and more.

“I’m amazed by our new headquarters,” said Secom founder and president Mike Toomey. “Secom provides such a wide breadth of services, from helping small businesses avoid big trouble locally, to the national level where our state-of-the-art systems help to safeguard some of the nation’s most important information. This new space is the perfect showcase for what we do here. I can’t wait to share it with our customers.”

Secom will also open its second location in Hampton Roads this month, with a specific focus on catering to the region’s UL 2050 and government clients.

The Hampton Roads office, located at 509 Viking Drive, will open for business on July 1st and is slated to host a grand opening celebration in the fall.

Industry veteran Jason Adams will serve as General Manager for the expansion, having previously worked with Toomey for Honeywell Access Systems 20 years ago.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a resident of Virginia Beach, Adams has more than 20 years’ experience with integrated security and fire systems. He is an expert in designing and managing large scale integration projects in the commercial and government arena. He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all projects throughout the region.

“I have such admiration for what Mike’s been able to accomplish with Secom in Maryland, and I’m thrilled to be part of the growing team,” Adams said. “I know Secom will be a tremendous asset to the Hampton Roads area, and Virginia at large, and we’re anxious to get to work.”

Secom’s UL 2050 certification authorizes the company to sell, install, and maintain SCIFs within a specified radius of 200 miles or 4-hours, making the Hampton Roads office an ideal option for Norfolk and Richmond customers.

In addition to servicing UL 2050 accounts, Secom’s Hampton Roads team will provide security optimization for industrial, commercial, and small businesses throughout Virginia.

“On a personal note, I’m incredibly excited to be collaborating with Jason once again,” Toomey continued. “But most importantly, the entire Secom team is ready, willing, and more than able to deliver the same stellar quality and customer service that we are known for to our new colleagues in Virginia.”
