Columbia, Md., Oct. 24, 2019 – The Underwriters Laboratory (UL) today approved Secom, LLC’s Virginia Beach office to serve as a UL File Center.
The UL File Center Certification – which was already held by Secom’s Columbia, Md. office – allows the company to service Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) within a 4-hour radius of its VA Beach location. This expands the company’s reach considerably, making its services available to agencies and defense contractors throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, most of Virginia, and portions of North Carolina.
In conjunction with an extensive network of regional integrators, Secom also offers SCIF services nationwide.
Secom remains one of a select few security providers nationwide with a UL 2050 certification, and regularly installs, monitors, and services SCIFs, secured containers, and closed areas.
Secom also offers UL 2050 and DoD monitoring services on existing SCIF security systems, typically with no associated upfront costs – establishing a distinct advantage over other area providers.
“There’s a new guy in town,” said Secom president Mike Toomey. “As a result of this recent certification, government agencies and contractors have new options. You don’t have to settle for a national company that will forget about you once you’ve paid them a fortune. Secom will deliver optimal results, while providing you with top-notch customer service.”
